The TTCA Futurity was established to provide breeders with a venue, held annually at the TTCA Specialty, to exhibit those dogs they bred which best demonstrate the goals of their breeding program as exemplified by the TTCA breed standard.
The Futurity event is intended to be a prestigious one, as no other TTCA and/or AKC exhibition advances the cause of the breed in the same way. It is an occasion when the Tibetan Terrier breeder community is formally recognized for the contributions they make to the breed, as well as gain greater awareness as to the inherited possibilities in fellow TTCA member breeding programs. It is the TTCA breeder community which points the way to the future of the breed, thus the extreme importance of the event as an educational tool for the entire TTCA membership is apparent.
Major Rules for Futurity participation are:
- Litters must be nominated by a TTCA member breeder or co-breeder within 90 days of whelping.
- Litter nominations require OFA or OFA Preliminary certifications for the Sire and Dam, as well as their CERF certifications indicating exams were performed not more than 1 (one) year prior to the breeding.
- A nominated dog may be shown at any one Futurity its entire life registered in Puppy, Junior, or an Adult class.
- The eligible dog must be shown by the breeder, owner, or member of their immediate household.
