From Placement to Problem Solving

9:30 – Noon

Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC),
Member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers,
Certified Member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants.

She has been educating people and their dogs since 1996 improving relationships between people and their dogs using scientifically based, humane, dog-friendly training and behavior modification techniques.

While problems can't be completely circumvented as a result of placement, it does play a role in a successful outcome for dogs and their families. We will discuss some of the red flags that present themselves when interviewing prospective puppy families and how to get a clearer picture of their reasons for choosing a Tibetan Terrier and making the best match possible. Once the puppy/dog is in the home what are some of the most common problems and how to help families navigate them? We will also discuss some of the more serious problems that can arise and how you might be able to guide families to a happy resolution.

What the Judges See — Presenting the Tibetan Terrier
A Greg Strong Seminar

1:30 – 4 p.m.

Sarah Cukier was born into a family raising Newfoundlands and Standard Schnauzers. In her youth Sarah competed in Junior Showmanship, winning best junior handler numerous times, and qualifying for Westminster KC. During her tenure with Greg she has finished many dogs single handedly and has won hundreds of Best of Breed and Group placements including many group firsts. She has shown in the Best in Show line up no less than 3 dozen times. Sarah also won a fun and new AKC event recently, solely between the assistants at the dog shows. Sarah is a very talented handler and both she and her husband are an integral part of Greg Strong's team.

The seminar will be tailored to the art of presenting a show dog and understanding the overall picture the judge sees. It will cover technique, developing a style for yourself, baiting and Tibetan Terrier specifics in presentation. She will be available to answer questions in detail for any participants.
