You can help the Animal Health Trust research Progressive Retinal Atrophy
Researchers at the Animal Health Trust require DNA samples from affected dogs and their close relatives (siblings, parents and grandparents, affected or unaffected). The DNA can be submitted as a 5ml EDTA blood sample or as a cheek swab and be accompanied by a 5-generation pedigree and any relevant health certificates/ veterinary diagnoses.
They would also welcome samples from older dogs with clear eye certificates as well as very close relatives of affected dogs. To request a free DNA cheek swab kit people should contact Lisa Jeffery (email@example.com)
We are also investigating primary lens luxation so samples from PLL affected dogs are also welcome.
